These would be some of the sites that offer technology to run cars on Hydrogen (HHO or Brown s Gas) which can also be called Hydroxy, that comes from water. These are the main water to gas players in the market nowadays. So how does this technology works?

Whenever you decide to upgrade to this system and decided to give one of these companies a call, they would never ask you to put water to your gas tank. Nor they will ask you to buy a new car with the water to gas engine. Actually, it s very simple. You don t have to change your engine or you car computer.

The water to gas conversion kit comes in with different part that can be easily assembled at home over the weekend. It only requires to use a few basic tools. The conversion kits major parts would be:

Electrolyzer (some call it “Hydrogen Generator”): these would be the containers (quart sized) can contain about 950cc of ordinary tap water or distilled water (based on the requirement of the manufacturer of the conversion kit). It could be glass, metal or plastic containers.

MAP Sensor Enhancer: this electronic device reduces fuel consumption without modifying the engine or the computer

Vacuum T-connector: helps you splice the vacuum line for feeding the hydrogen and oxygen into the engine.

Catalyst: Ordinary baking soda.

Pure hydrogen is dangerous, especially storing it in large compressed amounts in containers. It can result into explosion, however water does not explode. That is why water to gas conversion kits do not use pure hydrogen. Since hydrogen is already compressed or present in water, it is safely and easily released and consumed. So when HHO is produced, the by-product left is water. No harmful chemicals are being emitted from this system. You just need enough space under the hood to place a quart sized jar to put the water and catalyst. Catalyst is the substance that helps the electricity separate water into HHO. Nothing will happen without this material. This system uses ordinary baking soda, you can easily grab it from the nearest grocery store or from your kitchen cabinet.

Water is converted into HHO gas using electricity from the car s battery. The quart-sized water jar with a little bit of baking soda is placed under the hood. This device is connected with some fuse holder and wires to the car s battery. It gets vacuum and electricity from the engine produces the HHO gas. The HHO gas is supplied to the carburaetor. The generator from your battery connects the device via the ignition switch. This prevents hydrogen production when the engine is off and uses less electricity.

The Container Store for Smart Containers

I just have to say I go all agog when I get to go to The Container Store. (We don’t have one here in Utah). I know it’s sad but true. I use containers all the time in every room. I can go so far as to say I love containers. They are great to store things in, contain things in, make things get magically organized and stay that way. Having said that here are two containers I suggest not buying: (I will be bold and say, don’t buy them or you will be sorry).

The shoe rack that look like they are made out of PVC pipe, in other words, two thin pipes on the top and two on the bottom. The reason is: the shoes just won’t stay on, I finally figured out by putting them on backwards they will stay. Even then they have to be placed gingerly on the rod for them to stay. Everyone in my home finds that to be a bother. They just want to slap the shoes down and be done. Don’t get me wrong I like shoe racks of all kinds.

I just found one in The Container Store catalog that holds 30 pair of shoes and fits on the back of a door. There are other over the door racks that hold fewer, there are free standing ones that work great when the shoes fit flat on them as well as some that hang from the rod inside the closet. A shoe rack of some kind is a must because the floor of the closet stays tidy and you can find your shoes when you want them.

The other container I say not to buy is an accordion file. Now these look wonderful and you can sort and file by month, date and alphabetically but they are a pain. Why? Because they take two hands and the chin or shoulder to get anything in or out of them. That is a waste of time to me and I don’t like wrestling with my containers.

In the February/March 2008 issue of Shop Smart magazine they list four NOT SO HOT organizing tools that just add to the clutter.

1. Accordion files. Enough said.

2. Space bags. As a professional organizer I find the heavy black (cheaper) plastic bags work as well. Just use your vacuum to suck out the air and then tie tight. It is tons easier when two are working together. I don’t recommend the space bags either as I know several people who have used them and they have split open.

3. Containers with rims. “They stick out either at the top or bottom or both waste space. Go with the kind that sit flush against one another.” Having read that I went to the store to buy more containers for my storage room. The size I wanted had rims that stuck out. I stood there arguing with myself thinking I had to have the ones without rims. I bought the ones with rims. (I didn’t want to check out another store). Now the room they go in they work great because of the kind of shelf they go on.

4. Cardboard Boxes. “Can weaken or be damaged with normal use, but especially in garages and other potentially damp areas”. Some actually say on the box how long things can be stored in them. But if you are in a climate with humidity definite use heavy plastic containers for most things. If you are storing for a short time and with no humidity, cardboard boxes are fine. Just remember to label what is in them.

Think about the containers you will be using, the purpose, the space and the length of time before deciding on what is right or wrong for you. There are a plethora of containers for all of our different wants and needs. Buy what you need and what you like, don’t just buy to buy as then it becomes clutter rather than containers.

Herbs are valued for their culinary, medical, decorative and aromatic properties. They come in a diverse range of sizes, shapes and habits, ranging from ground-creeping thyme through to the tall architectural stems of angelica. The choice of herbs is so great that there is always something to offer a gardener with only a window box or hanging basket. A herb garden offers a treat for the senses and these fragrant plants are really easy to grow.

Herbs can be grown in a range of settings, from custom designed herb gardens to ornamental borders. They can also be grown as companion plants in the vegetable garden and are eminently suited to growing in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes.

Herbs range from tall showy herbaceous plants such as fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) and tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) to ground hugging cushion plants such as thyme (Thymus vulgaris). The majority of herbs originate from dry sunny environments and so need sunshine to help them to develop their essential oils. It is best to site herbs in an open, sunny spot in the garden where they will thrive.

Most herbs like dry sites and the sunnier and hotter the site the better they will taste. The taste and smell of herbs is usually due to the production of essential oils within the plants. If they are grown in hot conditions, then the concentration of essential oils will be greater. Growing herbs in very moist rich soils can accelerate their growth, but will result in a milder flavour. They will also look better and flower less than their hot site counterparts and are easier to harvest. Loamy soil with some added organic matter is best for herbs and this means that they can be planted among vegetables in the kitchen garden.

Herbs may be sown outdoors directly in the soil, just like vegetables. The preparation of the seedbed and the sowing techniques are exactly the same. Herbs can also be planted under cover and raised in the same way as early vegetables and bedding plants and then hardening them off before planting out in the garden. This method is particularly suitable for tender, leafy herbs such as basil or coriander.

Herbs can be sited anywhere in the garden as long as it is sunny. They have a range of forms and colours and often make valuable additions to the ornamental garden. Foxgloves (Digitalis), sage (Salvia officinalis) and the curry plant (Helichrysum italicum) are a few examples of herbs that can be used in annual and herbaceous borders as well as in the kitchen garden. Some herbs, such as mint (Mentha) and lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) can become very invasive if they are not contained in a pot or sunken sink when growing among other plants in an ornamental border. Remove the flower heads from the mint before they have had a chance to seed, as the seed will germinate all over the border.

Herbs make excellent subjects for use in pots and containers and are wonderful for patio gardens that catch plenty of summer sun, although you need to make sure that the potting mix never dries out. Raised beds, which provide good drainage, are also good areas for growing herbs. Always plant them in a free-draining potting mix that will not become waterlogged. There are numerous cultivators of culinary herbs that can be used for ornamental purposes, and groups of pot grown herbs can be extremely decorative as well as supplying you with a range of fresh flavourings. Thyme, rosemary, lavender and sage are all good choices to grow in pots, either outdoors or on a window sill.

Herb pots require little maintenance, save for watering and the occasional feed during the growing season. Herbs are not plants for the long term and should be restarted annually or every other year. Herbs that are permanently in pots, such as bay trees, will need repotting every year. Spreading herbs like thyme can be lifted and both top-pruned and root-pruned prior to repotting.

Potted herbs may also be grown in the greenhouse to ensure a supply both earlier and later in the season. Try growing basil, coriander, chives and dill in pots. Pots raised under glass can be brought into the kitchen for ease of use. A series of successional sowings under glass will ensure that you have fresh herbs for most or even all of the year, both indoors and out.
